Tulasidala Mulache - MAyAmAlava Gowlai

A simple invocation composed by Saint Thyagaraja in glory of Lord Rama.

This is largely different from any of my previous postings. I have not kept paid too much attention to the thalam because i was singing this as more of an invocation

I have tried my best to avoid any apaswaras anywhere..nonetheless if anything has evaded my care, do let me know.

thanks for listening and commenting :)

Randakka Randakka - Anniyan

This composition from Harris Jeyaraj’s is one of the most captivating 'dappanguthu' (folk-lore music) I have known in the tamil cinema music. HJ’s queer chorus syllables, and voices chosen to render the song help carve out his trademark.

Randakka from Anniyan is my favorite among his works. Amazing duo of KK and jazze gift and Sandhavi and Shreya Ghoshal and the memorable lyrics by Vairamuthu make this song HJ’s probable magnum opus.I have blogged this song with Tara Balakrishnan – a very talented singer through whom I got introduced to Muziboo. Listen to it and let me (us) know what you feel :)

Sonnalum Kaetpadhillai - Kadhal Virus

Out here at my blog, this is the first duet I am posting and I wanted that posting to be Sonnalum Kaetpadhillai - an endearing duet from the movie Kadhal Virus. Sindhuja Bhakthavatsalam, who is one of the best female singers I have stumbled upon the blogging world, has sung the female portion in this posting.

So here's our take on it. Look forward to your comments.

Mitwa - KANK

A huge favorite among many singers and listeners, this song has captivated the hearts of many. Shankar Mahadevan's dynamic composition together with a great performance from new comer Amanat Ali (A Pakistani singer) has spelled huge success not only to this song, but has also reaffirmed Shankar Mahadevan's ability to churn out memorable tunes.

O re Piya - Aaja Naachle

This is a song that I still listen to in awe as Rahatji mellifluously nails it... One of my favorite singers.
Great composition that gives the singer a lot of opportunities to exhibit his talent without being masked by the back ground music.

Here is my take on it. Let me know what you feel.

Poi Solla Koodadhu - Run

So my first post is a song from the movie Run. Fairly easy to sing, but little tweaks by Hariharan that makes the song memorable. Vidyasagar is surely one composer whose work cannot be easily shown to be similar to another composer.
