Sudha's debut in the blogging world is an endearing krithi composed by Shri. Iraiyimman Thampi - a highly talented contemporary of Swathi Thirunal and the composer of the famous "Omana Thingal Kidavo". Neelavarna is composed in the ragam Surutti in praise of Lord Padhmanabha. There appears to be some similarity in the styles of Swathi Thirunal and Iraiyimman Thampi especially in the usage of mudhras like "Kamalnabha Jaya Jaya". Apparently he was one among the eminent musicians who adorned Swathi Thirunal’s court. Even in the midst of existing competition, their mutual encouragement and admiration had helped them in polishing their potentials.

This has been a song that put my singing scale to a rigorous test - a debut masterpiece from Haricharan under Joshua Sridhar's composition - so much so that I can hardly hear myself now..:-p it was definitely a struggle. I had to prepare my mind and voice for over 3 days to sing this song - you know..to get into that mood and vigor you need to sing a song thats this difficult :) So I am finally through with it and have given it my today's best..

This composition from Harris Jeyaraj’s is one of the most captivating 'dappanguthu' (folk-lore music) I have known in the tamil cinema music. HJ’s queer chorus syllables, and voices chosen to render the song help carve out his trademark.

Randakka from Anniyan is my favorite among his works. Amazing duo of KK and jazze gift and Sandhavi and Shreya Ghoshal and the memorable lyrics by Vairamuthu make this song HJ’s probable magnum opus.I have blogged this song with Tara Balakrishnan – a very talented singer through whom I got introduced to Muziboo. This song was rendered by Unnikrishnan and Harini who are one of best sounding duet couple in cinema industry in the similar lines of TMS and P. Susheela, SPB and Chitra, Kishoreji and Lataji etc. Part of the music director's job is to choose a suitable voice for a song to bring out the composition's complete propensity. In that sense, you could say, that if Unni is chosen to sing the male portion of the song, the female portion has to be sung by Harini if the song is to live forever. This is yet another mesmerizing composition by A.R Rahman.

Out here at my blog, this is the first duet I am posting and I wanted that posting to be Sonnalum. Sindhuja Bhakthavatsalam, who is one of the best female singers I have stumbled upon the blogging world, has sung the female portion in this posting.
